Singapore, Little India
We are staying in Little India now, which is the shabby part of town, but you cannot argue with 7 pounds a
night for the hotel (with breakfast).
The food is incredible here and so cheap. We have just had black pepper crab, chilli crayfish with rice and
vegetables at one of the hawker markets for about 9 pounds.
Today we spent the day looking around Raffles Hotel and the museum there at all the old photos. We had
a Singapore Sling under the palm trees. Tomorrow we will return for Tiffin.
In the next couple of days we are planning to leave Singapore and travel to an island just off the coast of
Malaysia - so lazy Joe can have a rest up.

We decided to blow the deposit for a house on a grand world tour through 2004. We booked
through STA travel and put together a brief itinerary including the Far East, Australia, New Zealand and the USA.
As it turned out we experienced China, Bali, Fiji and many more places in between.
We decided to end the trip with a wedding in Las Vegas (which was very memorable!)
As a wedding present my brother put together an on-line travel blog for us which was a great tool for documenting
our journey. This experience truly changed our lives and we encountered many fantastic people through out the world.
I hope you enjoy reading some highlights of our journal!

Singapore was incredible, it bought back memories of when I was very young and lived there when my dad was in the RAF.
Not so much the places but the colour and the smell of the place Joe and I visited my families old married quarter in
Sembawang, though had to break in as it is off limits to non military personnel.
I had visions of being incarcerated with 20 lashes of the bamboo cane (which they still use there).
This is for Pat - The food in Singapore is the best in the world (so far). We ate at Hawkers markets and
food courts. To date we have sampled - peppered beef, sting ray, Chilli Black Bean Crab, Vietnamese Spring Rolls
(yummy), Barracuda, Fish Balls (not what you think), Dim Sum, but we did draw the line at Fog Porridge which is
very popular in Singapore.
My brother should be back from Africa now so will get round to sending out the pics as soon as possible.
